This class is GREAT, but for no novice. It has some P90X moves in it which are fantastic. It's tough but you know you have worked out when you are finished!

Wow. Okay, first off, in my opinion this should be labeled as a **CARDIO** class, rather than Strength. It's certainly both, but it seems much more cardio in my opinion. My heartrate elevated every bit as much as it would have (and for as long as it would have) in a regular aerobics class. This could certainly take the place of any cardio workout you wanted to do that day. The first time I took this class I only made it through 15 minutes. And I've still only made it through with breaks. And that's the first class on DemandFitness that I haven't gotten all the way through! It's VERY intense. To give a little better description of the class: Although this uses a step, there is no choreography, it's simply drills (so don't worry if you're not coordinated). As the instructor says in the beginning, it's the "perfect class to do with your boyfriend" (or someone else who might be choreographically challenged). :-) If you've taken a traditional step class (with lots of choreography), you might recall that there's usually a mid-point in the class that's the peak of the class's intensity, maybe where you're doing a long set of lunges or something like that. Well, this class is like that intensity peak, only it goes on for 30 minutes! One drill after the next. It's brutal. I recommend trying it after you've had plenty of sleep and maybe some Jolt cola or something. ;-) I'll have to work up to doing it all the way through without breaks. I give this one 4 stars rather than 5 because I think it would be a better class if each drill were shorter. It's a bit demoralizing to do really long drills. I thought I was going to die before some of them were over! So I think the class would be more fun / less depressing if each drill were shorter. But it's certainly a super-intense workout if you really want to work hard that day. Hopefully, one day this class will be easier for me to do. Anyone out there who finds it easy from the beginning is probably ready for marathons! :-) Oh, and Melinda's an intense instructor with a great personality! Thanks!
